Watch that Murphy’s law is fulfilled and then meet. And in the world of technology is the first thing that must be taken into account.
Yesterday morning, we had to stop the PC doing the backups. We were going to install a new operating system, change the hard drive … in the morning, the boys of the workshop were not working and decide to put it. Luckily, my partner, take an external hard drive and makes a backup of emergency and the latest incremental backups.
And of course by the afternoon at least eight quarter, when the first customer to buy something (like they knew we were not riding anything) the program management of the store, did cataclack, corruption of tables, indices out of range … fair enough that my partner made two copies before reinstalling the backup server … because nothing ever happens, except when there is the worst thing.
And now here I am rebuilding indexes, tables … and it seems that everything goes well, but we do not scare anyone away.
