Facebook this week vanity URL
May 31, 2009
It seems that the selection of more descriptive url for the user profiles on Facebook (Facebook vanity URL) will become a reality this week at Techcrunch says. Of course that excludes brands, generics and some words from the blacklist (porn, sex, etc). The image that place, but I think the movie Far and Away, is very descriptive when it is released will be a race to get a URL. I missed the FB but apparently organized a survey that if consulto pay for such a url "facebook.com / codigogeek", would you?
Connect on Twitter Wordpress or trick users
May 31, 2009
The title I was out of hand but it looks like now decide by Sunday thinking about Twitter or Facebook connect connect started doing tests on that blog and use it. Juanguis in PuntoGeek Techcrunch has used Twitter and Facebook connect connect, so I went to PuntoGeek specifically note in the announcement that John integration.

For the connection to my liking Twitter was swift and successful, but to see the comments box find a link to my profile, I went there and saw only some parts of the dashboard of PG, but nothing that would change if my profile, which changes the URL indicating my Twitter account and I put in my blog, comment back and clear my name came out linking CG.
What I mean by that the plugin is a lie simply save the record in Wordpress and automatically create a new user with your data from Twitter, and for that we Boluda access to our Twitter account to an external application, if we relied more on my pass Juanguis to keep it in third.
As I said a while ago by Juan this fly, because it is created as I said, a commentator for each user that connects to Twitter.
While this makes me lean even more to connect Facebook, I wonder: would be very difficult to create a user validation system in which the link points to where one wants and not always to the profile, especially for this blogger who always we link our blog from the comments and the current options do not allow it (OpenID, FB Connect, Google Connect). Save time filling out the fields in each blog you want to comment I'm sure it would be a cause for more feedback.
If you still want to lie to their visitors and ahorrasles recording traditional WP is here for the plugin.
Image of the Week: Google Wave
May 31, 2009
One of the most important news this week was the announcement Google Wave , the proposal interesting and indescribable company by the big G to offer something new with respect to Internet communication. Here in our companion Quiviger Sacha did a thorough review, explain what Wave and its appeal lies in what
Basically, what we define as an evolution of e-mail , in addition to aspects of microblogging, instant messaging, wikis, etc.. Or as they themselves are "e-mail if it had been invented at the moment."
One of the key advantages of Google is the Wave save time and clicks to make many actions through a simple drag and drop to the browser (add someone to a conversation, upload a photo to a web service) . Besides this as the platform, which will enable developers to create widgets and applications that will increase the functionality of Wave, creating a rich ecosystem around it.
In summary, a more interesting game, and will be following closely in the coming months .
Gmail Notifier Plus a Gmail Notifier for Windows 7
May 31, 2009
Slowly begin to appear more third party applications that take advantage of the features of the new Windows taskbar 7. I recently told of Winfox, a tool that made available a Firefox Jump List with links to frequent and useful tasks. And now we have to comment Gmail Notifier Plus , a notifier for Gmail that makes full use of all developments of "superbarra" Windows 7.
This reporter has not only a Jump List with shortcuts, but also takes advantage of the Live Preview to show a small piece of new mail without opening it browser, and also to alert you when problems have which prevent it from checking the inbox (poor connectivity, user name and password incorrect, etc.). Includes special buttons in the same Live Preview (Windows Media Player style) which serve to change the message when we have no more to read, and to go directly to the inbox of Gmail .
The Jump List, meanwhile, tells us the subjects of unread emails, and links to change the settings of Gmail Notifier Plus, and to compose a new mail.

Something strange is that the application interface itself has almost no, but that should be used only by the Jump Lists, and Live Preview (hence is incompatible with Windows Vista and XP). Furthermore, we must note that in this beta release, so it's likely that you topéis with a few bugs to use it.

Skype 4.1 beta for Windows allows you to share screen
May 31, 2009

This Week Skype has updated its Windows version to the 4.1 beta , adding some new features. The most interesting is the possibility of to share the screen with our contacts, something that other similar programs already allow. Interestingly, the beta version for Mac already offered this option since the early days of 2009 when it was normally the version of Windows which first received the news that later appear in other OSes.
This anomaly is explained by the facilities in this area of the block system, which unfortunately means that the Linux version must wait many months to take advantage of this functionality.
Beyond the small security improvements and bug fixes, this version offers import contacts from Gmail, Windows Live, Yahoo!, LinkedIn and AOL . Other developments affecting the system are the support contacts for birthdays and the option to send contacts to other Skype users, a strange thing.

Thymer, easy option for the management of projects and tasks
May 31, 2009

Project Management and planning of tasks for people who hate the project management and planning tasks. Under this slogan is Thymer , a web application in private beta, which offers a simple, easy and intuitive to manage projects and tasks.
The operation was quite similar to many Web applications for managing pending tasks, which users simply need to write those projects or tasks that are pending, either individually or in groups, giving some dates of activating the four states that are available.
Also, for each task or project, you can make a record of all activities with corresponding time employees either index manually move or leave the meter while performing the tasks. These tasks may also carry reviews.
But yes, if we create projects, and these discussions can establish, on an individual do not make much sense. That is why we can create our own team , creating the accounts of different users that are part of it.
Simplicity and ease of use, but as I said at the beginning, in private beta. From the homepage, we can ask our invitation.
