NO external links adversely affect PageRank

It is all very well understand the theory SEO, but the best way to learn is to study and analyze real cases and practicing. There is much talk about whether link to other websites have consequences in the transfer of PageRank or in the positioning .

Taking as reference two major sites, and Google Search Eye Dirson, we will try to draw some conclusions on the PageRank and search engine positioning . Of course, they are only conclusions, and each will have theirs.

Before drawing conclusions we have to have some considerations:

Theme similar but not equal - Both sites are trying to positioning, Google and search engines. Dirson focuses only on news about Google search engine while Ojo has a broader themes.

Sites similar but not equal - Dirson is a blog and forum, Eye Finder is hacerca more to a portal.

Age of the domain - Dirson is older than Eye-finder

Conclusions

Some conclusions can be drawn taking into account only the points above:

Despite the Dirson has more than 1,000 backlinks which Eye Finder , the latter has more PageRank. Ie, link is good for the PageRank .

A more content, more PageRank.

As for the positioning , it’s hard to say anything. Dirson is perfectly positioned to its subject. It also has more years, and thus more traffic. May influence its strategy of internal links.

Eye Finder , despite having more content and more PageRank, you have less traffic. Maybe because of his youth.

According Technorati , Eye Finder Fold in backlinks to Dirson in the last 6 months. This is significant. Link means to be more connected.

Maybe things will change in a short period of time or not. But one thing is clear, at least with these features: The external links NO adversely affect PageRank .
